Alcohol Ink on Ceramic Tiles – Creativity and Color Fun
Materials needed
Steps
Prepare your workspace and materials

Choose a clean and smooth ceramic tile (e.g., 10x10 cm). Wash the tile thoroughly with soap and water and dry it well. Set up your workspace with some damp cloths to clean spills and protect surfaces.

Choose your colors and tools

Select alcohol ink colors you like. You will also need paper towels, a plastic stick or toothpicks to spread the ink, and some isopropyl alcohol to thin and alter effects.

Apply the ink on the tile

Drop several drops of alcohol ink directly onto the surface of the tile. Try combining different colors and observe how they blend and flow.

Modify ink patterns and effects

Use the plastic stick or toothpick to push and spread the colors. To create interesting patterns, add a little isopropyl alcohol on the tile to change how the colors mix.

Drying and refining

Let the tile dry completely on the table or use a low-heat air blower. If you want sharper colors or to add details, add more ink drops and let dry again.

Preserving your artwork

To make your tile more durable and protect the ink, spray a clear acrylic sealer once the tile is fully dry. This ensures the colors stay vibrant and protected.
