Question 1

Is it necessary to have a notebook for art students?

Accepted Answer

Notebooks help students organize projects and record ideas, methods, and project descriptions. They are useful for both basic and advanced art students. Fondurlist sells notebooks specially designed for school projects with ample space for text and drawings.

Question 2

Can I use alcohol ink for painting on canvas?

Accepted Answer

Alcohol ink is excellent for adding color depth and creativity to projects, but it is better suited for paper and small-scale applications rather than directly on canvas. If you want to mix ink with traditional paint, it’s best to test on a small piece first. Föndurlist has a good selection of alcohol inks popular among artists for color blending and expression.

Question 3

What materials do I need to paint with resin/epoxy?

Accepted Answer

First, you need resin and hardener that mix together, plus a canvas or other surface you want to use. Resin provides a glossy and hard finish that protects the artwork. At Föndurlist, you can get resin kits suitable for art projects along with safety gear like gloves and masks. Be sure to prepare a workspace with good ventilation.

Question 4

How do I mix colors correctly to get new tones?

Accepted Answer

It’s best to use white paper or a paint palette when mixing colors. Mix the colors gradually and add more color before blending further. You can use a brush or palette knife to mix, but be careful not to overmix to avoid dull colors. Föndurlist sells acrylic paints in a wide range of colors as well as palettes that help with mixing.

Question 5

What is the best paper for watercolor painting?

Accepted Answer

Watercolor painting requires thick paper with good moisture resistance, typically 300 g/m² or more. Watercolor paper from Föndurlist is well suited as it is specially designed for watercolors and keeps the layers beautiful without much warping. Avoid regular office paper as it does not handle moisture well.

Question 6

How do I clean brushes after painting with acrylic paint?

Accepted Answer

Brushes used with acrylic paint are best cleaned immediately after use with lukewarm water and mild soap. Avoid letting the paint dry on the brushes as it can damage the bristles. Föndurlist offers special brush cleaners and soaps to help preserve your brushes for a long time.

Question 7

What tips do you have for beginners wanting to learn oil painting?

Accepted Answer

Start with a basic color palette and practice mixing colors in small studies. Use gesso primer to prepare the canvas and begin with simple images. Föndurlist offers beginner kits with all essential supplies and workshops to help you get started.

Question 8

Can I use watercolours on canvas instead of paper?

Accepted Answer

Although watercolours are typically used on paper, you can use them on special water-resistant canvas with the right preparation. Föndurlist carries canvases suitable for watercolour painting that provide a different and interesting texture. Remember the canvas needs proper priming to hold the colours well.
