Sunday Gallery Talk with Ingi­björg Sólrún | Big Little City – Images of Reykjavík

Ingibjörg Sólrún was a city councillor from 1982 to 1988 and again from 1994 to 2006, and served as the Mayor of Reykjavík from 1994 to 2003. On the occasion of Reykjavík’s 240th anniversary in 2026, the city’s appearance throughout history is examined in a summer exhibition at Kjarvalsstaðir. We present new contemporary artworks, showcase interesting works from the museum’s collection, and borrow curious objects from other museums and institutions.
