5 Easy Beaded Bracelets — Step by Step

Jewellery making is a wonderful way to express your creativity and craft personal pieces — whether for yourself or as gifts. Here are 5 bracelets you can make at home, ranging from simple to slightly more advanced.
1. Simple Beaded Stringing — Classic Bracelet
This is the perfect first project for beginners. All you need is:
- Flex-Rite beading wire (0.46 mm) or similar beading wire
- 20–30 beads in 6–8 mm size
- 2 crimp beads
- 1 lobster claw clasp
- Crimping pliers or flat-nose pliers
Method: Thread a crimp bead and clasp onto the wire. Pass the end back through the crimp bead and crimp it in place. String your beads. Repeat the crimping process at the other end. Trim any excess wire.
💡 Tip: Choose beads within the same colour family for a cohesive, put-together look.
2. Stretch Bracelet — No Tools Required
The easiest bracelet you can make! All you need is stretch cord and beads.
- Cut approximately 30 cm of stretch cord
- String your beads onto the cord
- Tie a secure knot (double or triple)
- Add a drop of glue to the knot
- Trim the excess cord
💡 Tip: Miyuki seed beads are perfect for mixing in between larger beads for added texture and interest.
3. Knotted Bracelet — The Friendship Bracelet, Upgraded
A classic macramé bracelet using S-Lon or C-Lon cord:
- Cut 4 lengths of cord, approximately 60 cm each
- Align them together and form a loop at the top
- Use the outer cords to knot around the inner cords
- Add beads to the inner cords as you knot
- Finish with a knot and a small bead that fastens into the loop
S-Lon cord is available in over 100 colours, so the possibilities are truly endless!
4. Linked Bracelet — Using Head Pins
This bracelet uses the simple loop technique to connect beads together:
- Place a bead onto a head pin
- Bend the wire at a 90° angle just above the bead
- Trim so that 8–10 mm of wire remains
- Form a loop using round-nose pliers
- Connect the loops using jump rings and chain
This creates a beautiful, chain-like look and is great practice for mastering basic wire loops.
5. Bead Weaving — Peyote Stitch Bracelet
For the more experienced crafter — peyote stitch is one of the most popular bead weaving techniques:
- Use Miyuki Delica beads (11/0) — they are perfectly uniform in shape
- FireLine thread and a beading needle
- String an odd number of beads to start (e.g. 7)
- Work back: skip one bead, pass through the next, skip one, pass through the next...
- Continue until the bracelet reaches the desired length
💡 Tip: Start with 2–3 colours and a simple pattern. You'll find countless free patterns available online.
