Paint types

To make your work washable you need to cure the paint — either by baking in the oven or air-curing over several days, depending on the type. After curing, the colour withstands gentle hand washing. Always follow the product instructions.

Can I use the glasses and plates after painting?
Yes, but avoid painting areas that touch food and drink directly (e.g. the rim). Most glass and porcelain paint needs curing — baked in the oven or left to dry for several days per the instructions. After curing the colour withstands gentle hand washing.
Do I need to bake glass paint?
It depends on the type. Marabu Porcelain & Glass can be baked in the oven (around 160°C) or air-cured. Baking gives much better durability and wash resistance. Always read each product's instructions — it makes a big difference.
What is outline paste for?
Outline paste (relief/liner) is used to draw raised borders that keep colours separate, much like the leading in stained glass. It gives a professional finish and stops adjacent colours from bleeding together.
