Getting started with oils
Oil paint is loved for its rich colour, depth and long working time. Because it dries slowly you can blend directly on the canvas and rework areas over hours. At Föndurlist you will find oil colours, mediums and accessories for every level.
Colours and pigments

Mediums and thinners

How long does oil paint take to dry?
Oil colours are touch-dry in anywhere from a day to several days depending on the colour, thickness and medium used. Full curing takes longer. This slow drying lets you blend and rework the surface over an extended period.
What do I need besides the paint?
Beyond the colours you will want a few brushes suited to oils, a medium or solvent, a palette and a primed surface such as canvas or board. We stock all of these so you can put together a complete oil painting kit.
